AI Enablement Case Study #1
Helping Healthcare Compliance Companies Grow and Scale
AI-enabled Transformation of Revenue Cycle & Healthcare Compliance Services
The Opportunity
Medicare compliance is a high-stakes, documentation-intensive challenge. Healthcare providers face relentless audit pressure, and the cost of getting it wrong — denied claims, mandatory refunds, and regulatory exposure — can be substantial.
A healthcare compliance and revenue cycle services firm specializing in hospice organizations helps providers navigate Medicare eligibility audits by reviewing patient medical records — a process that requires clinical expertise, regulatory judgment, and painstaking attention to detail.
Nurse auditors were manually reviewing hundreds of pages per claim, and the company could not hire and train qualified staff fast enough to keep pace with demand.
The result: the company was turning away inbound opportunities, forfeiting significant revenue and beginning to strain client relationships built on reliability and trust.
Our Approach
Partnering with the founder and team, our operating team identified the manual records review workflow as the primary constraint on growth. We then designed a solution to fundamentally re-engineer that workflow using AI.
We led the full-cycle development and integration of an AI-enabled medical records review platform purpose-built for a regulated healthcare environment. Key components included:
HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure to securely store and process sensitive patient data at scale
AI-powered document processing to extract and structure information from PDFs, images, and diverse medical record formats
Retrieval-augmented generation to intelligently surface relevant clinical information during the audit process
Workflow integration that embedded AI model outputs directly into nurse auditor tools, augmenting human judgment rather than replacing it
The Impact
The initial deployment delivered more than 70% efficiency gains in manual processing time, with the next version of the platform targeting more than 85% efficiency improvement upon release.
For the business, the implications extend well beyond productivity. With its operational bottleneck addressed, the company is positioned to pursue demand it previously had to decline — and to cross-sell its broader suite of compliance services to an expanded client base.
What was once a constraint on growth is now a competitive differentiator.

Virtual Agents Supporting High Growth
Human Capital Operations & AI-Enabled Workforce Management
The Opportunity
Rapid growth is a good problem to have — until internal operations can no longer keep pace.
A healthcare revenue cycle company was scaling aggressively, including a large offshore workforce across multiple geographies. The pace of expansion had outgrown the capacity of its HR function. An already stretched team was being asked to support a rapidly growing, geographically distributed employee base without a corresponding increase in resources.
The company’s CHRO could not hire fast enough — and adding significant HR headcount was not an economically attractive solution. Our team identified a better path.
Our Approach
We applied our Accelerated Evaluation Playbook — a structured four-week assessment designed to generate actionable insights and answer a focused question: where and how could AI meaningfully improve HR operations?
Our work included:
Profiling processes and analyzing tasks to identify the HR functions most suitable for AI augmentation, drawing on workflow mapping and an analysis of thousands of historical HR service tickets
Rapidly prototyping a Virtual HR Assistant using our firm’s Generative AI platform, trained on the company’s HR policies, job aids, and FAQs — with an initial version delivered within one week
Piloting the tool live with a cohort of HR professionals, evaluating its accuracy in responding to real employee inquiries and stress-testing options for integration into existing workflows
The Impact
he pilot demonstrated that more than 97% of questions on trained topics received accurate, appropriate responses from the Virtual HR Assistant — validating both the technology and the practical use case, while also earning the confidence of the HR team.
Beyond helping remove a significant operational constraint to growth, feedback from pilot participants highlighted a broader set of benefits: improved employee experience, reduced compliance risk, and meaningful reallocation of HR capacity toward higher-value work.
